Mark Blum is a proven leader of large, global, cross-functional teams in the IT&T industry. He has over 25 years’ experience in developing and driving new strategic visions and delivering transformational change in complex environments.
Mark currently works for Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, and he is General Manager of Cisco’s Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation Centres in Australia. The Cisco IoT Innovation Centres showcase what is possible with the new internet of things and also serve to foster innovation and collaboration with universities, government, start-ups and industry to prototype and develop new products and services. Mark is responsible for establishing two centres in Australia, developing the partnerships and selecting and managing the innovative projects pursued in these centres.
Prior to joining Cisco Mark was Senior Vice President, Customer Operations at Reliance Globalcom a global, Indian-headquartered Telecoms company. Reliance had previously purchased Vanco, a UK based managed services company providing IT&T services to top tier corporate customers (such as Lend Lease, Orica, Ford and Lloyd’s Bank) where Mark was responsible for the global operations and engineering functions. Prior to joining Vanco, Mark was responsible for engineering and operations at AAPT which he joined in its early start-up stages.
During his career Mark has lived and worked in Israel, Canada and the UK. Mark holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degrees from Sydney University, Master of Engineering from UTS and an MBA from Deakin University.
